Egypt Museum Project Reflection

How might you create an interactive exhibit that will encourage young visitors to care about the civilization of Ancient Egypt?

How well do you as an individual and as a group member were at solving this problem?

As an individual, I feel that I thought through this problem thoroughly and came up with a few good ideas from which I could choose from. As a group member, I feel that I contributed a fare amount of effort into solving this problem. I suggested a few ideas that my group and I discussed which helped us to come up with a few options of what we could use to make our artifacts interactive.

Describe your learning process from start to end... as an individual, and as a group member.

As an individual, my learning process started with the gathering of notes. I learned how to properly gather information that was relevant to my topic and display them using MIDAS notes. secondly, I began the process of figuring out which characteristic of a civilization represented my artifact. I learned that my artifact represented both religion and social structure. Thirdly, I began the process of actually creating my artifact. I learned some tips that I could use on my artifact to make it visually appealing. Fourthly, I began the process of creating a caption to go with my artifact. I learned how to put all of my good information into one paragraph so the visitors can read about what my artifact really is. As a group member, my learning process started with figuring out what each of us were going to do for our artifact. I learned about some of the Egyptians religion, and I started looking at some artifacts that related to religion. Secondly, we began the process of thinking about how to make our presentation interactive. I learned about my group mates artifacts, and we helped each other think about how we could all make our artifacts interactive. Lastly, we started the process of practicing our lines for what we would say when we presented for other students.

What aspect of the project challenged you the most?

The aspect that challenged me the most was probably the actual making of the artifact because I don't have much artistic skill.

What are you most proud of?

I'm most proud of how my artifact looks because as I said, it was challenging for me because of my lack of artistic skill, but I actually think that my artifact looks visually appealing which gives me a good feeling of proudness.

What part of the overall experience do you think you will remember the most?

The part that I will remember the most has to be when my group and I presented our information to other students.

Below is my artifact, King Tut's scarab.
